“Cutter” is a hand tool used for cutting peat from less wet, shallower bogs. The peat it reveals is drier and therefore more easily burnt in the kiln, producing a whisky with heavy smokiness. This whisky was peated to 20.5 ppm.

Now, peat is not exactly Knockdhu’s traditional style, but they manage to pull it off very well. In addition to the classic flavours of the anCnoc single malt, it has a rich smokiness and thick, sweet notes of ripe pear.
