Another in Aberfeldy’s highly regarded Exceptional Cask Series, which sees the distillery bottle single casks that really stand out.

Aberfeldy is a Highland distillery found close to the centre of the region. Known for making a very sweet style of spirit, the distillery is the home of the Dewar’s brand of blends.

This bottling has been aged initially in a Bourbon barrel, before enjoying a very lengthy 4 year finish in Sherry casks. In total this dram was matured for 20 years, developing a wonderful complexity.

The bottling offers up notes of prunes, figs, dark honey, raspberries, cherries, charred oak, vanilla, apples, barley sugar, Sherry, cherries, dark chocolate, espresso and a little peppery spice.

Bottled at cask strength of 54% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a superb example of Aberfeldy’s spirit.

Just 594 bottles were produced, each hand-numbered and labelled.
