The third FarmStock release from top notch rye producers WhistlePig!
These release are notable as they contain ever increasing proportions of WhistlePig’s own grown rye whiskey. Eventually, the aim is to produce a “triple terroir” spirit, made with grain grown on site, diluted with water drawn on site, and casked in local Vermont White Oak.
This is the first FarmStock release to include a majority of WhistlePig whiskey, with the blend containing 52% three year old WhistlePig rye, 31% six year old Canadian rye, and 17% 10 year old Canadian rye. The spirit has been finished in Vermont white oak prior to bottling.
The result is a creamy, yet spicy whiskey, that offers up bold notes of cinnamon, toffee apple, tobacco leaf, salted caramel, boiled sweets, chopped herbs, cloves and saffron.
A cracker, bottled at a slightly high proof of 43% ABV for even more spicy intensity.
