A gin that is punchy by name and punchy by nature. A fantastic gin created by the Belgian Mastermind Manuel Wouters. Distilled in the Netherlands by the Zuidan company (also the producers of the marvellous Dutch Courage Gin). This gin is interesting for a few reasons. Firstly, it is bottled at a robust 49.6% ABV, which gives the botanic flavours an extra boost. Secondly, and most importantly, the production technique is very sophisticated. Each of the 14 botanicals are distilled separately then blended together, allowing the distiller enormous flexibility when creating the gin. This is considerably more labour intensive and expensive compared to “single shot” distillation. This gin includes strawberry leaf, liquorice root, damiana leaf, vervian herb, orris root, orange, dandelion, cardamom, angelica, vanilla, lemon, and of course, juniper. It also uses hops as one of the botanicals, which is a very interesting twist! A beautiful bittersweet gin, ideal for a G&T.
