Tomatin 29 Year Old 1989 - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon & MacPhail)
70 cl, 55%

A well aged Tomatin bottling from Gordon and MacPhail, forming part of their highly regarded and long running Connoissuers Choice series.

The Highland distillery of Tomatin is known for an intense and fruity spirit, which does well in robust first fill casks, and produces some superb exotic fruit flavours at great age.

This whisky has been aged in a refill American oak Hogshead for 29 years, having been distilled in 1989 and bottled on 13th of September 2018. This less aggressive cask has allowed the spirit to age slowly and gently, developing a great complexity and sophistication.

The result is a dram bursting with notes of juicy citrus, beeswax, lemon, bananas, chocolate, clear honey, dark chocolate, ginger spice, cinnamon, lychees, rose water, pink grapefruit, toffee apple, gentle vanilla, some freshly cut grass and a drying, lingering oak note.

Bottled at a robust 53.2% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this whisky is wholly natural.

Another superb dram from the fine folk at Gordon and MacPhail, just 183 bottles of this single cask whisky were produced.
