Signatory Vintage”s Un-Chillfiltered range is much lauded for hitting that sweet spot between excellent quality and great value. This is another fantastic addition to their range of superb single cask whiskies. The Glenlivet is one of the most popular single malt distilleries in the world, and seen by many as the epitome of the Speyside malt. This is a terrific example of this distillery’s whisky, rich in green apples, sweet malt, bright cereal notes and toasted oak. As this whisky has been matured in a first fill sherry butt, there are plenty fruity, spicy notes, adding depth and complexity. The overall result is a rich and decadent whisky, a real treat. This whisky has been aged for 19 years, distilled on the 13th of May 1996, and bottled on the 1st of February 2016, so just a little under 20 years old! This whisky is bottled at a lovely 46% ABV, with no chill filtration or artificial colouration, as always with the Un-Chillfiltered range. This allows the natural flavours of the spirit to really take hold on the palate. A fabulous whisky from an iconic distillery, great work again from the folks over at Signatory Vintage!
