A cracking single cask dram from a mystery distillery (perhaps a very famous Speysider whose name begins with M). This dram was bottled by Signatory Vintage for their superb Cask Strength series.

A 2005 single vintage whisky, the spirit has been aged in a single first fill Oloroso Sherry butt for 18 years. The result is a Scotch whisky packed with rich sherried flavours.

This bottling serves up notes of dates, figs, nuts, old oak, toffee, dark chocolate, sweet red wine, raisins, cinnamon, plum jam, a touch of vanilla bean, leather, citrus rind and tobacco leaves.

A terrific whisky - more sophisticated and balanced than the typical Sherry-bomb.

Bottled at a powerful cask strength of 57.5% ABV, this is an assertive and intense drinking experience.
