A well aged expression from the Speyburn distillery, found in Scotland’s famed Speyside region.
Aged in a combination of American and Spanish oak casks for no less than 18 years, this drop has developed stupendous depth of flavour and character.
The bottling – first released in 2018 – is dedicated to Speyburn distillery manager Bobby Anderson, whose 18th anniversary at distillery was celebrated in the same year – that’s a lot of 18s!
Speyburn 18 Year Old serves up flavours of spiced hot chocolate, almonds, pineapple, mango, tinned peaches, a gentle lick of wood smoke, some subtle prunes and figs, alongside a little drying wood.
Bottled at 46% ABV for a little more body and warmth, this whisky has not been chill filtered.
