A Canadian whiskey bottled in Oregon to celebrate local rodeo events, this is truly a whiskey of the North Americas! This is a blended rye whiskey, custom created for the Snake River Stampede brand. This whiskey spends 8 years maturing in ex-Bourbon in Canada, before being shipped down to Oregon for bottling. Here it is transferred into former sherry casks for a marrying and finishing period of 6 months. This produces a wonderfully well rounded and fully flavoured dram. The nose on this dram is pure Canadian rye, with a sweet opening followed by aromas of dusty, dry oak, vibrant spice, herbs, ginger, plums, and some potpourri. The palate has a Cedarwood opening, with sweet creamy toffee, burnt sugar, lemon peel, more of the herbaceous notes of the nose, cinnamon, citrus zest and ground ginger. The finish is long and tangy, with ginger, cloves and cinnamon, and a little dark oak towards the end. A cracking little dram, and another great Canadian whiskey.
