Released in 2015, the Skiren is the latest addition to Scapa’s range of single malts. Scapa is in a rather unique position as a Scottish distillery, as they have the last operational Lomond still in Scotland, a type of still said to create a sweeter and more fruity spirit. Once distilled, the Scapa Skiren is put in to first fill American oak casks, imparting plenty of sweetness and vanilla. “Skiren” means “glittering bright skies” in old Norse speak.
