It seems like more and more high quality Cuban rums are finally making their way over to Europe after enjoying enormous success in their home country. Santiago de Cuba Añejo is one such example.
A well aged Cuban rum, named after the second largest city in the Island nation, the rum has been matured in white American oak barrels.
The result is a spicy, tropical rum with notes of dark caramel, overripe banana, almond, bright oak, spice, creamy honey, pineapple and vanilla.
Smartly presented in its squat bottle, this rum is a good mixer, but is complex enough to be enjoyed neat or over ice.
