A very popular rum in Rum-Bar’s homeland of Jamaica.
This Rum-Bar White is bottled at a formidable over-proof strength of 63% ABV.
Rum-Bar is produced at the famous Worthy Park estate, who use molasses produced on-site from cane grown entirely on-site. Unlike many other white over-proof rums, this is distilled entirely in pot stills. Rum-Bar is not made with traditional Jamaican dunder pits, with the distillery looking towards their proprietary yeast strains to add character.
This is a rum designed to be mixed into cocktails and long drinks, with it too powerful to be drunk neat. However, when mixed, this rum’s flavourful nature begins to shine through, with a wonderful white sugar clarity, alongside bright notes of tropical fruits. There is a little more complexity here than found in competing over-proof white rums.
Goes great with grapefruit soda.
