Royal Lochnagar is famous for being granted a Royal Warrant first in 1848, following a visit from Queen Victoria and Prince Albert (the distillery is found close to the crown’s Balmoral estate). The distillery is the smallest in Diageo’s portfolio.
Similarly, House Baratheon is associated with the crown, being the house upon the Iron Throne at the beginning of HBO’s Game of Thrones series.
This bottling is presented featuring the rampant stag of the Baratheon House, with the Crown representing their royal claim.
The whisky itself has been aged for 12 years, and shows off plenty of the grassy, fruity character that is beloved by drinkers. This whisky serves up flavours of oak, custard, bananas, liquorice, mango, apple, hay, grass, malt, vanilla, toffee, beeswax and slight lemon.
A great bottle for the collector, or just for anyone looking for a tasty highland dram.
Not a patch on the standard bottling. Just keep it for show!!
