Another lovely looking Signatory Vintage bottling, this time of Royal Brackla.
This 11 year old dram has been aged in two Hogsheads, numbers 310854 and 310855. Royal Brackla was the first distillery to receive a Royal Warrant, back in 1835 – granted by King William IV. These days the distillery mostly makes spirit for blending, and is known for its bright, clean and fresh spirit.
Here the whisky has just enough age to take the edge off the spirit a touch, whilst retaining its clarity and vigour. Drinkers can expect flavours of citrus peel, orchard fruit, hay, sweet malt, clear honey, white sugar, grapes, mint, vanilla and dusty oak.
Bottled at 43% ABV, the dram is natural in colour.
A tasty sipper from an overlooked distillery.
