A cracking Peruvian rum from Ron Cartavio.
This spirit has been aged in oak barrels in a Solera system, a process of maturation often seen in the sherry world, where spirit is drawn from the oldest barrel in a collection, then being replaced by spirit from the next barrel, and so on. This produces a well balanced rum, with an excellent equilibrium between fiery youth and dignified age.
The rum is rich in, dark, sweet flavours, dense with notes of chocolate, coffee, nutmeg, dried fruit and creamy vanilla.
