A fantastic rum from the highly regarded Foursquare distillery in Barbados. Richard Seale is the masterful and innovative head distiller of the distillery, and this bottling carries his family’s name (the distillery is a family run business in its 4th generation). Seale is passionate about creating the very best spirit possible, and as such this rum has no extra sugar added, allowing the spirit’s natural complexity and sweetness to take hold. This rum has been aged for 10 years in Barbados, in oak casks. Whilst this bottling might look near identical to the standard edition, this expression of the RL Seale brand is bottled at the slightly higher proof of 46% ABV, “export strength”, which allows the rums wonderful flavours to ring through. Drinkers should expect notes of bright cane, apple and pear, oak and slightly drying syrup. A truly cracking rum, perfect for slow sipping.
