A fascinating malt whisky, uniquely Swedish in nature.
This bottling has been produced in partnership with Swedish silversmith and jewelry designer, Efva Attling. Attling toured the distillery, and picked out 19 casks that took her fancy, to make this superb bottling. The casks chosen were a mixture of Oloroso sherry, American oak and former Bourbon casks, many of which had been seasoned with Swedish birch tree sap wine. Additional cherry wine cask matured spirit was used to add a little more sweetness.
The result is a subtle and refined whisky, with extraordinarily soft fruit flavours, accompanied by some delicious floral notes, and a unique woody profile of birch and oak. A little tobacco smoke and cinnamon spice give depth to the dram.
This dram is bottled at 46.3% ABV and without chill filtration, allowing the buttery palate to really take old.
One of the most interesting whiskies we’ve come across for a long time.
