Another whisky from Swedish distillery Mackmyra which is as interesting as it is delicious.
Äppelblom, which roughly translates as “Apple blossom”, has been matured in former Calvados barrels from the esteemed Christian Drouin distillery.
The result is a light single malt, with notes of apple, pear, flowers, cedarwood, vanilla, toasted oak, green grapes, almond, toffees, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.
Bottled at 46.1% ABV for a fuller body and flavour profile, this is a rich, yet drinkable whisky.
A great option for Calvados fans.
