A very interesting gin produced in the Canary Islands!

Macaronesia refers to a wider group of islands which includes the Azores, Cape Verde, the Selvagen Islands, Madeira and the Desertas Islands.

This gin is made using botanicals found on these islands, and water which has been filtered through the volcanic rocks that make up their topography.

Botanicals in this gin include cardamom, liquorice, lemon and orange peel, angelica, and (of course) juniper!

The result is a well balanced gin with an aggressive citrus character offset by flavours of juniper, and earthy spice.

The spirit is presented in a charmingly old fashioned liquor bottle.
