A staff favourite here at Fine Drams, this annual release has been continually impressive over the years.

Longrow is, of course, the peated malt series from cult Campbeltown distillery, Springbank.

Unlike the ordinary Springbank spirit, Longrow undergoes merely a double distillation (as opposed to the partial triple distillation enjoyed by Springbank) and is heavily peated.

This batch has been aged in a mixture of sherry and Bourbon casks, in a 60:40 split. This maturation has produced a perfectly balanced dram, with the peat playing off wonderfully well against the sweet, spicy sherry notes and the heavy vanilla of the Bourbon cask.

Bottled at 46% ABV, and (as always with Springbank) without colouration or chill filtration, this ensures full flavour from this dram.

As a small batch production, this whisky is limited to just 4,500 bottles world-wide, and we don’t expect it to stick around.
