An excellent, well aged bottling from cult distillery Longmorn. This offering has been picked out by the fine folk at Signatory Vintage for their esteemed Cask Strength series.
The bottling was distilled on the 17th of September 2002, and bottled on the 11th of December 2019, having lain in a single former Bourbon barrel for 17 years.
The result is a superbly balanced dram with subtle cask influence, showcasing the distillery’s distinctive fruity and weighty house style.
This 17 year old Longmorn delivers flavours of apples, pears, beeswax, gentle bright oak, slight barrel char, cinnamon, nutmeg, stewed peaches, grapes, vanilla, caramel and some sharp white pepper. The finish is long and somewhat drying.
Bottled at a cask strength of 54.2% ABV, and free from chill filtration or colouration, this is a powerful, intense drinking experience.
Just 194 bottles were produced from this single cask.
