Once again, The Ultimate Whisky Company has picked out a beauty of a single cask.
This time it is a whisky from cult Speyside distillery, Linkwood. Linkwood distillery is found in the heart of Speyside whisky, Elgin, and in many ways the whisky encapsulates the very best of the Speyside style.
This 2008 vintage whisky was distilled on the 14th of May 2008 and bottled on the 25th of April 2017, making it less than a month short of 9 years old. The whisky was matured in a single former Bourbon barrel, cask number 800043.
This maturation has imparted delicious notes of toffee, vanilla, tropical fruits to Linkwood’s slightly nutty and malty spirit. At this age, it remains vibrantly youthful, but has enough maturity to maintain an excellent balance.
The whisky benefits from being bottled at a strength of 46% ABV and without either chill filtration or artificial colouration.
Only 313 bottles were produced from this cask.
