A truly stupendous bottling from the old masters, Gordon and MacPhail. This time, the Elgin based company have turned their hands to one of Speyside’s highest quality distilleries – Linkwood.

Long prized by blenders and connoisseurs alike, Linkwood is a thick, fresh and luxurious malt whisky. Both distillation and fermentation are slow, with the former performed in a manner to maximize copper contact in the still.

Some distilleries’ spirit does not work well at great ages, but Linkwood is certainly not one of these. This 25 year old whisky is a sumptuous offering. Aged in refill sherry casks, this dram offers up a glissando of flavours, whilst maintaining superb balance.

Drinkers can expect notes of juicy peach, freshly cut grass, peppery spice, lemon rind, old oak, honey, pressed flowers, dried fruit, warm malt, milk chocolate and rich sherry.
