Linkwood 17 Year Old 1999 (Cask #6169 & #6172) - Signatory Un-Chillfiltered
70 cl, 46%

This bottle from the illustrious distillery, Linkwood, forms a welcome addition to Signatory Vintage’s highly regarded “Un-Chillfiltered” line. Linkwood is highly prized by blenders, but rarely seen as a single malt, which makes this bottling all the more exciting. The distillery is also known for its manager from the 1930s, Roderick Mackenzie, who was so superstitious refused to even remove the cobwebs in the distillery, to avoid affecting the whisky’s flavour.

This particular bottling was distilled on the 17th of May 1999 and bottled on the 19th of January 2017, making it fully 17 years old. The spirit was matured in two Hogheads (numbers 6169 and 6172). This maturation has given the whisky lovely notes of succulent fruits, cinnamon, rich caramel, bright cereal, dusty oak, toffee and baked malt.

Bottled at 46% ABV, and without either chillfiltration or artificial colouration, this is a genuinely small batch production, with the emphasis on the natural flavours and aromas of the whisky. As only two casks were used for this bottling, stocks are limited and Linkwood fans will want to purchase quickly to avoid disappointment! Each bottle comes with an iconic Signatory Vintage presentation tube.
