A cracking bottling of cult distillery Linkwood.
This whisky has been produced by the esteemed Signatory Vintage independent bottling company, as part of their Cask Strength Collection.
The dram spirit has been aged initially in a Bourbon hogshead, before a finishing period in a “fresh sherry butt”. This whisky was distilled on the 5th of December 2006, and bottled on the 2nd of June 2020, with a final age of 13 years.
The result is an intensely sherried dram, which offers notes of fresh fudgy chocolate cakes, with crunchy malt, dried cranberries and cherries, figs, cinnamon, nutmeg, plums, dark oak, vanilla, peanuts, molasses and coffee.
Bottled at 58.4% ABV, and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a thick, flavoursome Speysider.
Just 702 bottles were produced.
