A decadent Linkwood bottled by Signatory Vintage as part of their fantastic Cask Strength series.
This whisky was distilled on the 5th of December 2006 and bottled on the 11th of February 2020. The spirit was initially aged in former Bourbon hogsheads, before being finished in a “fresh sherry” butt for three months, with a final age of 13 years. The sherry butt seems to have been particularly active, with a wonderful rich red hue to this dram.
The whisky serves up flavours of rich plums, raisins, sultanas, apricots, cherries, dark malt, green apple, cinnamon, vanilla, slight tobacco, oak, peaches, some gentle herbs and chilli powder.
Another belter from this cult distillery, bottled at a cask strength 58.4% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration.
Just 713 bottles were produced.
