An absolutely delicious world whisky, from a nation better known for its chocolate and cuckoo clocks than its single malt whisky – Switzerland! Whilst Langatun distillery was founded in 2007, the owning family have been brewing and distilling for more than 100 years. Aptly, the distillery is located in an old grain store. This bottling is produced using peated malt (as opposed to the un-peated Old Deer). The bear is a reference to the family’s original brewing, which had a bear on its logo. The whisky itself has been matured in former Chateaunuef-du-Pape barrels, a tremendous provenance of cask, being one of the most delicious wines in the world. This gives the malt whisky notes of barbequed plums, dried fruit and grapey sweetness. This whisky has been bottled at a cask strength of 62.4% ABV, and without either chill filtration or colouration. This is a single cask whisky, so stocks are limited! Please not this bottle is 50cl in size.
