An excellent gin made by the Eastern Netherlands company Lime Wyck Distillers, who have grown and processed grain since 1803 and have distilled since 2009. The distillery owns several acres of farmland, on which lives a company mascot, the Springer Spaniel Whisper, from which the gin takes its name. This is a classic, traditional style aged gin, similar to the Dutch genever that gave birth to the spirit. Whisper Man’s Aged Gin is made with barley grown onsite and a superb quality of botanicals. The gin is distilled in a small, 300 litre copper kettle-style still. The spirit itself is bright and spicy, with a soft, malty core accentuated by the aging in oak casks. Quite frankly absurd value for money, aged gins like this are on the rise and make excellent additions to any spirits collection.
