A terrific, old fashioned Bourbon from I.W. Harper.

This whisky dates back to the 1870s, and it is a brand with a story which captures the “American Dream”. The brand was founded by Isaac Bernheim, who arrived in America from Germany with only $4 in his pocket. After several failed business ventures, Bernheim established a liquor sales and distilling firm in Kentucky.

Their first “elite whiskey” was named after Isaac Wolfe Bernheim, with his first two initials paired with the more Anglo-friendly “Harper” for sales reasons. The Bernheim distillery was one of 10 allowed to continue production during prohibition.

Made with a mashbill of 73% corn, 18% rye and 9% barley, this is a classic Bourbon profile, rich with sweet cakes, spicy rye, vanilla, toffee, red fruit, bananas, bright oak, red apples, brown sugar and cinnamon.

Bottled at 43% ABV, this is simple, delicious stuff, full of flavour and ideal for mixing or sipping.
