This single malt was selected by London bar, The Distillery, known for its world class range of spirits.
This dram was distilled on 1st of April 2003, and bottled in December 2016, having aged till 2007 in two refill American oak barrels, before spending the next eight years in a single second fill Pedro Ximenez cask.
The result is a wonderfully well balanced dram, that showcases the effects of both cask varieties. Drinkers can expect notes of dark chocolate, some toasted nuts, some subtle peat, vanilla, cherries, plums, raspberries, raisins, rich burnt malt, saffron, cumin, nutmeg, rich oak and Bourbon cream.
Bottled at 55.4% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration. A superlative example of Loch Lomond’s spirit.
Interestingly, this dram features a screwtop closure!
