A crisp offering from Inchgower distillery, bottled by Signatory Vintage for their Cask Strength series.
Distilled on the 24th of April 1997, and bottled on the 11th of February 2020, this whisky has been matured for about 20 years in Bourbon hogsheads, before a finish in a single sherry butt for 27 months.
The result is a spicy, fruity offering that delivers flavours of dried fruits, vanilla, bright oak, light leather, toffee, plums, cinnamon, milk chocolate, old apricots, custard, pastry, toasted malt and almonds. Good harmony between the two cask varieties is on show here.
Bottled at fiery cask strength of 59.7% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a full bodied and fully flavoured dram.
703 bottles were drawn from the sherry butt.
