When brothers James and Christopher Hayman (themselves related to James Burrough, the famous founder of Beefeater) established Hayman’s, they stated their aim to represent all gin styles, beyond the standard London Dry variety.
It was this ambition that led to them producing this twist on the classic Sloe gin liqueur. This bottling is made to an old family recipe.
The sloe berries, which are naturally tart, are steeped with Hayman’s classic dry gin for several months, before being mixed with natural sugar.
The result is a fruity and bittersweet liqueur, perfect as a digestif, or served over ice. It also does well in cocktails, and is a surprisingly delicious addition to mulled wine!
