An extremely high quality vintage Cognac bottling from venerable bottlers, Grosperrin.

This spirit comes from the Fins Bois region, easily the largest of the Cognac cru, which actually outstrips Burgundy in terms of vineyard plantings. With such a wide area, the quality can vary, so Grosperrin works hard to find the very best examples of Fins Bois Cognac. Nevertheless, the finest sites in Fins Bois can rank alongside the best that both the premier crus of Grande and Petite Champagne have to offer.

This vintage is produced by a winegrower located in the village of Siecq, located between the towns of Rouillac and Matha. Here they farm both cereal produce and animals, and produce Cognac in extremely small batches, just a single cask per year. The 1988 offering was aged under state control, until the Grosperrin company purchased and bottled it.

Notes of rich old wine immediately great the drinker upon tasting this Cognac. Flavours of liquorice, pressed flowers, oily nuts, grapes, old oak, dried fruits, nutmeg, vanilla, light cinnamon and some musky rancio soon follow.

A charming, delectable dram, that has been bottled at 47% ABV for greater body and depth.
