Gold Cock is thought to be the Czech Republic’s oldest whisky brand, dating back to 1978.

Distilled at the Rudolf Jelinek distillery, this whisky was finished in new, heavily charred Czech oak barrels from the Barina cooperage.

The result is a sweet, unctuous whisky with a pronounced oak profile, featuring notes of dense wood, sweet plums, caramelised malt, apples, vanilla, cinnamon, and a little oaky nutmeg.

Bottled at a warming 49.2% ABV and without either chill filtration or colouration, this is a high quality dram.
