An excellent single vintage Glentauchers from Gordon & MacPhail’s wonderfully retro Distillery Labels series.

A 2005 vintage, this whisky has been aged for about 14 years in what appears to be American oak casks.

The result is an approachable whisky with a classic Speyside characters. Drinkers should expect notes of apples, peaches, light lemon and orange rind, vanilla, heavy caramel, oily nuts and some spicy oak.

Just a good old fashioned Speyside whisky from one of the best bottlers in the business.
