Another delectable single cask offering from Càrn Mòr’s Celebration of the Cask series.
This time round they have picked out a cask from Glenlossie distillery, found in the Speyside region. Glenlossie places a great emphasis on refined, pure spirit, with purifier pipes attached to the stills ensuring that any heavier alcohols are redistilled. Glenlossie provides spirit for many of Diageo’s blends.
This bottling has been aged for 24 years, in a single former Bourbon barrel, producing a spirit which is delicate yet powerful.
The final result is a dram that serves up notes of honeysuckle, orange rind, vanilla, oak, toffee, gentle cinnamon and nutmeg, pears, malt, hay, some marshmallow, a little candied apple and a touch of stem ginger.
Bottled at a toasty cask strength of 53.3% ABV, and without chill filtration and colouration, this is a satisfying, albeit, light dram.
Just 194 bottles were produced.
