A very striking offering from Glenkinchie, released as part of the 2016 outturn of Diageo Special Releases.
At 24 years old, this is the oldest official bottling from the Lowland distillery ever. The whisky has been partially sherry matured, giving it a surprising depth for a Lowland dram.
Glenkinchie 24 offers flavours of dried fruit, lime, flowers, salted caramel, heather honey, dusty oak, stone fruit, apples, peppery spice, brown sugar and vanilla.
Bottled at a cask strength of 57.2% ABV, and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a beautiful dram, full in flavour and body.
Just 5,928 bottles were produced.
