Glen Scotia 26 Year Old 1992 - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon & MacPhail)
70 cl, 55.7%

A truly exceptional bottling from Gordon and MacPhail, forming part of their highly esteemed Connoisseurs Choice series.

This whisky is from Glen Scotia, the Campbeltown distillery that is often overlooked in favour of neighbouring distillery, Springbank. As it was traditional a blenders malt, the distillery is noted for its versatility, able to create different levels of peated whisky, and spirit that might be nutty or fruity depending on fermentation time.

Aged for 26 years in a single first fill Bourbon barrel, the whisky was distilled in 1992 and bottled on the 20th of September 2018. The freshness of the barrel means that this whisky is absolutely bursting with flavour.

Drinkers should expect notes of gentle wood smoke, dried tropical fruits, toffee, oily walnut and almond, some slight beery funk, stone fruit, apple, malt, oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, honey, earth and toasted coconut flakes.

Bottled at 55.5% ABV, and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a whisky full in both flavour and mouthfeel.

Just 210 bottles were produced.
