Glen Scotia 1992 (Bottled 2011) - The MacPhail's Collection (Gordon & MacPhail)
70 cl, 43%

Glen Scotia has an unfortunate reputation as being the “Other Distillery” in Campbeltown, very much in the shadow of Springbank. Nevertheless, the distillery is capable of producing some fabulous spirit.

This expression is one such bottling. An excellent addition to the much-loved ‘MacPhail’s Collection’, produced by Gordon and MacPhail.

Distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2014, the whisky has been aged in refill Sherry casks for around 22 years.

This dram opens up with flavours of salted almonds, followed by green barley, slight earthy funk, sea spray, light peat, a touch of iodine, dried fruit, slight jammy berries and tannic oak. A classic Campbeltown profile.

The whisky is bottled at a warming 43% ABV, and is a toasty, approachable bottling.
