Another brilliant whiskey from the revived Dunville brand. Dunville was a popular Irish whiskey produced in Belfast, until the global downturn of the 1930s claimed another victim. Nevertheless, the whiskey brand was restored to its former glory in 2016, when new distillery Echlinville rejuvenated it. Echlinville is one of many new distilleries on the island, however, it is the first in Belfast to be granted a new licence in over 125 years. A wonderful distillery it is too, with a strong commitment to terroir, using only grain produced from the fields surrounding their distillery to produce their whiskey. This 10 year old Irish whiskey is of a beautiful pot still style, with delicious grassy and vanilla notes, accompanied by hints of dried fruit from the PX finish. A great dram, with a lovely story.
