A good quality white rum from Puerto Rican company, Don Q. This bottling is called Cristal because of its perfectly clear colour.

The rum is produced using column stills. Intriguingly for a rum of this colour, a blend of rums, some as old as 5 years, have been used. The spirit has been filtered to clarify any evidence of aging away.

The result is a more characterful white rum that one might be used to, with bold white sugar notes, lemon zest, peppery alcoholic spice, pineapple and molasses.

Suggested as an alternative to vodka in some drinks, this snappy, sweet rum is excellent for mixing with higher quality lemonades and ginger ale.
