One of the best looking bottles on our shelves, this is a rum inspired by the story of Don Juancho Nieto Melendez. This is the moustachioed gentleman on the bottle’s label. He was a diplomat to the region, who loved to study the rum-production process, and would keep an excellent stock of the local spirit in his cellar. When he hosted diplomatic parties, he would blend his own rums, given to his friends and locals. These blends soon became known as “the reserve of the ambassador”, and give rise to the brand’s name several of its bottlings. This particularly beauty is a fruity, fully pot-still distilled rum, carefully crafted by Rum Master Tito Cordero. The rum is aged for no less than 12 years in former whiskey casks. This rum brings full, dark sweet flavours of dried fruit and sweet tea, with a slightly yeasty edge and peppery wood spice. Truly a classic Venezuelan rum, with over 20 awards to its name.
