A Cognac blend of a rare and exceptional quality from the world-famous Courvoisier house.
Courvoisier are known for having some of the deepest and most expansive reserves in the industry, and they have used them to full effect with this bottling. The spirit contains eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne and Borderies crus, which date back to early 20th century. These extremely old spirits are complemented with younger Cognacs from the later 1900s. In total, over 100 different Cognacs are blended into this bottling.
The result is a piece of liquid history, which contains spirits of different styles and ages, and illustrates the innovations in distillation, cooperage and maturation that have occurred across the years.
L’Essence de Courvoisier serves up astonishing depth of flavour and complexity. Drinkers should expect notes of marzipan, sweet dried fruits, perfumed flowers, sandalwood, cigar smoke, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, old oak, rancio, leather, dark chocolate, liquorice, figs, plums, apricot and beeswax.
The spirit is bottled in special decanter style vessels, hand-sculpted by 30 craftsmen from Baccarat. The design is inspired by the signet rings that Napoleon Bonaparte gave as awards to the commanders of his armies.
