Panamanian rum from Contadora island off the Isla del Rey.
This spirit has been aged for 15 years in oak barrels. 15 years is the genuine age statement of the spirit, not referring to an age-average or a solera system.
The final result is a well matured, complex rum that serves up notes of vanilla, coconut, molasses, toffee, milk chocolate, orange rind, peppery spice, and oak.
Contadora has the nickname “Pearl Island”, and this rum is certainly a gem.
