Another lovely young whisky from Dutch bottlers The Ultimate Whisky Company.
This time round it’s a 2008 vintage from cult highland distillery, Clynelish.
This whisky has been aged for 8 years in a single former Bourbon American oak barrel. This has made for a subtly oaky whisky, with the spirit doing much of the heavy lifting, flavour-wise.
As such drinkers should expect waxy, mineralic notes typical to this distillery, with some light, bright cereal sweetness, vanilla, slight dusty oak and barrel char.
The whisky benefits from being bottled at 46% ABV, and without either chill filtration or artificial colouration.
An excellent way of getting to grips with the house style of this famous distillery, drinkers will have to move fast if they want to try this dram, as just 280 bottles were produced.
