A magnificent bottling of Clynelish from Signatory, forming part of their highly esteemed Cask Strength series.
This dram has been aged for a lengthy 23 years in a single Sherry butt (cask no. 11246), having been distilled in 1995 and bottled in February 2019.
A rich and decadent example of the North Highlander’s style, this bottling delivers flavours of crisp burnt toffee, beeswax, vanilla, slight mineral salt, a little oily walnut, rich dark sherry, ginger, oak, some slight piny forest floor notes, dark chocolate, thyme, rosemary, plums, figs and dried fruits.
Bottled at a robust cask strength of 53.7% ABV, the whisky is presented without chill filtration or colouration.
A Clynelish that leans more fruity and slightly less waxy than many of their offerings, this is an interesting and indulgent dram.
Just 501 bottles were produced.
