A wonderful 1996 vintage from this cult distillery, selected by the inimitable Ultimate Whisky Company.

This Dutch company has established a reputation as one of the very best around for choosing single casks of whisky. This is one such cask, a refill fantastic sherry butt (number 8793) which has held whisky for 21 years.

The spirit was distilled on the 8th of October 1996, and bottled on the 2nd November 2017.

This maturation has created an excellent dram, lending notes of juicy fruit, Christmas cake, bright baking spices and toffee to the naturally waxy, slightly mineralic Clynelish spirit.

Bottled at 46% ABV, and without chill filtration or artificial colouration, this ensures the whisky’s flavours can be enjoyed to their full.

Just 623 bottles were drawn from this cask, meaning that stocks are rather limited, and we do not see this one sticking around for long.
