A lovely single cask offering from Dutch bottlers The Ultimate Whisky Company.
This time round they’ve picked out a barrel from cult north Highland distillery Clynelish.
The spirit has been aged in a first fill Bourbon barrel, producing an intensely flavoured whisky in just 10 years. The whisky was distilled on the 6th of June 2008, and bottled on the 17th of January 2019.
The final result is a classic Clynelish dram, packed with the typical flavours of that distillery: beeswax and slight minerality, accompanied by oakier notes of vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, green apples, crunchy malt, toffee, charred oak, coconut, milk chocolate, clove, slight mint, and heather honey.
Bottled at a powerful cask strength of 56.5% ABV, and without chill filtration or colouration, this is naturally delicious dram.
Just 231 bottles were released.
