Cadenhead’s is better known for being one of the oldest, and most well respected independent bottlers of single malts in Scotland. Yet, they afford themselves the occasional sortie into different spirits, as illustrated with this superb gin.

Like many gins on the market, this bottling seeks to capture a colonial feel, with its title and logo recalling British rule in India.

This is an old-fashioned gin, lightly floral and spiced, having been infused with Saffron, the world’s most coveted spice. This gives to the spirit, a toasty, savoury spice, and light yellow colour.

The colour of Old Raj makes for a striking G & T, similar in colour to a whisky highball. The spirit is a perfectly balanced, crisp, and flavourful gin, with the prestige of Cadenhead’s expertise behind them.
