Another of these ‘two cask’ releases from Signatory Vintage.
This bottling contains spirit from the wildly underrated Blair Athol distillery, found at the heart of the Highland region. This whisky has been aged in former sherry Hogsheads (sister casks 2294 and 2295), imparting a delicate sherry flavour that does not overwhelm the spicy character of the spirit.
This 10 year old serves up delightful notes of dried fruit, cinnamon, cloves, anise, vanilla, slight light plum and cherry flavours, and touches of honey and pressed flowers.
Bottled at 43% ABV and without colouration, this is a dram that balances typical Highland spiciness with approachability.
Another high quality bottling from Signatory.
